Brazilian feminists marched for their rights along the main road running through the UFRA campus during the 2009 World Social Forum in Belem, Brazil. WSF 2009 Peaceful McDonalds Demonstration

This clip shows a peaceful demonstration at the local McDonalds in Belem. Participants in the ceremonial march stopped here to show that imperialistic corporations such as McDonalds and Coca-Cola are in opposition to the anti-globalization ideals of the World Social Forum. The demonstration took place peacefully, with many of the participants singing, dancing, and even blowing kisses at the American fast-food franchise. Read more…
