As part of the WSF Global Day of Action the Toronto Social Forum sponsored a cultural evening that featured a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the legalization of abortion in Canada, a stunning victory of the women's movement.

Full description

This is a video of the Toronto event for the WSF Global Day of Action.  The video features highlights from the event, which was organized in the style of a social forum through a call out to various social organizations to propose performers and artists for the evening.  The theme was Cultures of Resistance and the focus was a celebration of one of the most important victories of the women's movement, legalizing abortion. 

The video features, aboriginal chanting, poetry, rap, dance and music as well as a couple of speeches.  It reflects the multicultural character of Toronto and the movements here as well as the strength of feminism and gay rights
